In the last 24 hours, 164 people have died due to Covid-19 in the country, which is the highest in a single day during the pandemic in the country. In the last 24 hours, 9,964 people have been newly identified as Coronavirus patients. In the midst of this rise in patient identification and deaths, the Health Division says there are no intensive care units (ICUs) in all five major government hospitals in the capital, Dhaka. Not only Dhaka, but other parts of the country are facing the same situation now. The situation in Khulna, Rajshahi, Tangail, Mymensingh and Cumilla has deteriorated drastically.

Khulna is the new hot spot of coronavirus in Bangladesh. Loads of empty oxygen cylinders are being piled up there like dead people. Hospitals in the Khulna division are not able to handle the situation. In the Khulna division, 51 people have died in the last 24 hours due to Covid-19. At this time, 1,470 people have been newly identified as Covid-19 patients. This is by far the highest number of coronavirus detections and deaths in a single day in the Division.

The number of Covid-19 identities and deaths is increasing day by day in Kushtia. Meanwhile, Kushtia 250-bed General Hospital has been declared as Corona Dedicated Hospital. But the authorities are struggling to provide treatment due to manpower crisis and extra patient pressure.

According to hospital sources, 36 people have died in the last 48 hours at Corona Dedicated Hospital. At present, 287 patients are undergoing treatment there while the number of coronavirus positive patients is 193. The rest are admitted with coronavirus symptoms. Due to the bed crisis, most of the patients have been accommodated on the verandah and floor of the hospital. At least 50 patients are being admitted to the hospital every 24 hours for a week.

Doctors said most of the infected were in critical condition. They were brought to the hospital at the last moment. Until then, doctors have nothing to do. Most patients have oxygen levels below 60. The mortality rate of these patients is high. In addition, patients with diabetes, heart problems, liver disease; their oxygen levels are declining fast. Despite heart and soul attempts, it is not possible to keep them alive. Moreover, the condition of those who come to the doctor late is worse.

There is crying for oxygen and ICU at the Corona unit in Cumilla. The patients are dying in Corona Ward. The woes of the patient's relatives have made the environment of the hospital heavy.

A relative of the patient named Zakia Begum said that her father Tajul Islam, a heroic freedom fighter, was infected with the coronavirus. They came to Cumilla Medical College Hospital from Kandughar area of Brahmanpara upazila of the district. After waiting for three hours, they did not get oxygen support here.

Zakia Begum said, "My father's condition is very bad. Having shortness of breath. Despite repeated requests, I am not getting any oxygen. '

A man named Abul Bashar was receiving his father's body from the corona unit of the hospital. He said, ‘It is foolish to expect better treatment in Bangladesh. Dad is dead, what more can I say? Bad luck, brother.'

There is no place to set foot in the corona unit of Tangail General Hospital. There has also been a shortage of medical equipment. It is known that people are suffering from fever and cold in different upazilas of the district. The sellers have already informed about the crisis of various drugs including Napa.

Tangail Civil Surgeon Dr. Abul Fazal. Shahabuddin said 130 people have died of Covid-19 in Tangail so far. A total of 8,631 people were infected while 4,841 people recovered.

Rajshahi Medical College has 495 patients admitted in the 405-bed corona isolation unit. Of these, 59 have been admitted in the last 24 hours. The director of the hospital, Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, said many needed ICUs as they came to the hospital in critical condition. But that is not going to be confirmed as the number of beds is limited.

Coronavirus infection is also on the rise in the border district of Joypurhat. In addition to coronavirus, everyone is gathering outside the hospital to see a doctor for treatment of fever, cold, cough, or other ailments. Even though no one obeys hygiene rules.

Coronavirus treatment was started with 100 beds in the general ward and 10 beds in the ICU of the unit located on the fifth to the eighth floor of the new building on the east side of Mymensingh Medical College (MMCH) Hospital. The number of beds is gradually increasing this year as the number of patients continues to increase. At present, there are 300 beds in the general unit and 20 beds in the ICU. As of noon on Monday (July 5), a record 296 patients have been admitted to the corona unit of the Hospital while none of the 20 beds in the ICU are empty.

Dr. Department of Medicine. Abrar Al Shakib said the number of patients has increased over the past few days. However, we are constantly serving Corona patients. Ordinary people should follow government guidelines to prevent coronavirus infection.
