Only 300 Intensive Care Units (ICUs) beds are available in
hospitals across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health
Services (DGHS).
On Sunday (July 11th), DGHS spokesman Professor Dr Md Robed
Amin made the remarks in a virtual bulletin on the overall Covid-19 situation.
"The infection rate is much higher across the country
last month," Robed said. One lakh 12 thousand 718 patients were infected
in June. In the first 10 days of July, we saw about one lakh patients become
infected. As the infection rate continues to rise, hospital beds will no longer
be empty in the next seven to 10 days.
Numerous ICU beds were empty last month. The number of those
empty beds is slowly decreasing.
