82% of COVID Positive in Last 3 Weeks Had Omicron

Data analysis shows, between January 19 and February 9, 82 percent of those who tested positive for Covid-19 were infected with Omicron and 18 percent with Delta variation.

The information was revealed today by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Sharfuddin Ahmed of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), who is also the chief supervisor of the Genome Sequencing Research Project.

The study was conducted on patients admitted to BSMMU and those visiting the outdoor unit of the hospital.
