The
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has said the ongoing activities
of providing the first coronavirus vaccine will end on February 26. Then, the
applying activities on the second and booster doses will be intensified.
Director
General (DG) Prof Khurshid Alam made the disclosure in a virtual briefing on
Tuesday (February 15).
He
said, “Activities of providing the first dose vaccine will end on February 26
through the campaign ‘Crore doses in a day’. Then, activities on providing the
second and booster dose will be intensified. Those who have yet not received the
vaccine, please go the nearest center and get vaccinated to stay protected.”
DHGS
DG said, “A recently published study states that people who died of coronavirus,
most of them did not get vaccinated. We have observed less death rate among
those who received the vaccine. In this situation, we urge all to take the vaccine
as soon as possible. With this, keep yourself protected, keep the country
protected.”
Khurshid
Alam said, “We will conduct a massive campaign across the country on February
26. We have set a target of providing the highest number of doses on the day. In that
case, those who have yet not taken the vaccine, we urge them all to participate in
the campaign and get vaccinated. With the campaign, activities of our first
dose will end.”
According
to the latest data, a total of 17,50,81,262 doses of coronavirus vaccine of
different companies have been provided. Of them, 10,09,11,021 people have
received the first dose while 7,14,75,721 taken second dose and 26,94,520 got
the booster dose.
