The
National Technical Advisory Committee (NTAC) on Covid-19 has made six
recommendations on the rise in coronavirus infections. The suggestion was made
at a meeting on Wednesday (June 15) night. The 58th meeting was held under the
chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sahidullah, Chairman of the Committee.
Among
the suggestions is to urge all types of media to re-motivate the public to
adhere to hygiene rules.
Make
wearing of mask mandatory in all cases. Implementing ‘No Mask No Service’
policy, maintaining social distance, excluding public gatherings. Religious
places of worship (mosques, temples, churches) need to wear masks and maintain
social distance.
Those
who are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 and those who are coming in contact
with people infected with Covid-19 should be requested to be tested.
In
countries where the rate of infection of variants and sub-variants of the Covid-19
virus is high, it is believed that the virus enters the country through
infected people. For this, necessary measures have to be taken on air, land, and
seaports. If necessary, a Covid-19 negative certificate or vaccination certificate
is required. Especially for passengers coming from more affected countries.
Arrange
for rapid antigen testing of suspects. Infected individuals need to be given
quarantine as the infection progresses.
Those
who have not yet received the second and third doses of the Covid-19 vaccine
should be interested in taking it. Advice on vaccinating children between the
ages of 5 and 12 needs to be followed.
This
should be considered when the World Health Organization approves the fourth
dose. Possibilities need to be considered to identify variants of the Covid-19.
Research is needed to determine how long vaccine immunity lasts.
The
special beds, ICU system, and manpower available for the treatment of Covid-19
patients need to be properly prepared for the treatment of the affected
patients at an increasing rate. An inter-ministerial meeting may be held if
necessary to implement the decision.
