Dengue: One Dies, 460 Hospitalized in 24Hrs

One person was reported dead after being infected with dengue fever in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll by the Aedes-mosquito borne disease to 51. At the same time, 460 dengue patients were hospitalized.

This information was obtained in a dengue-related report by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.

According to the report, among the 460 people who were hospitalized with dengue fever, 320 hailed from and 140 are outside Dhaka.

At present, the total number of dengue patients admitted to various public and private hospitals in the country stands at 1,738.

From January 1 to September 27 this year, a total of 14,822 were admitted to the hospitals due to dengue. Among them, 13,030 have been recovered.
