Death Toll from Dengue Fever Surpasses 100 in Four Months

Seven people died of dengue fever in the last 24 hours across the country while 864 new dengue patients were hospitalized during the period.

With this, 106 people have died of dengue and the number of dengue patients hospitalized in the country has reached 3,304 so far.

This information was given in a regular dengue report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) regarding the Aedes-mosquito-borne disease situation across the country on Wednesday.

The report states that among the new patients, 565 of them are residents of Dhaka and 299 people are outside Dhaka.  

Currently, 2,247 people are admitted to various hospitals in Dhaka and 1,057 people are admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka.

From January 1 to October 19 this year, 27,802 people were hospitalized with dengue fever. Among them, 24,392 people have recovered.
