The infection of coronavirus (Covid-19) is again increasing at an alarming rate in various countries of the world including China. This time, the new type of Omicron 'BF.7' is spreading, which is highly contagious and difficult to detect, experts said.

In order to prevent such cases, it has been ordered to strengthen screening in all air, land, and sea ports of Bangladesh. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to isolate the infected person through rapid antigen test at all ports.

This information was given by the Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr. Ahemdul Kabir.

He said, from the airport to all the ports, emphasis has been given on screening. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to isolate the infected person through rapid antigen test at all ports. Passengers coming from the countries where the coronavirus infection is high will be tested if they are suspected.

He also said that although the number of coronavirus patients in the country is still between seven and eight people, IEDCR has already been instructed to keep the genome sequence test going. Because the new type of coronavirus can be detected quickly.

The Additional Director General of DGHS urged everyone to wear masks and get vaccinated as soon as possible, saying that the hospitals have been prepared, and the DNCC hospital has been prepared with more equipment. So that more patients can be admitted and services can be ensured. Despite the increase in the number of coronavirus patients, all the hospitals of the country have been ordered to keep isolation units ready so that there is no medical crisis.

Besides, the additional director general of the health directorate also said that a meeting of the technical committee will be held in a day or two to determine the symptoms of this new type and what to do in its treatment.
