NTV journalist Zahidur Rahman, who has been missing for five
days in Libya, has been found. He is currently in police custody. An official
of the Bangladesh Embassy in Libya confirmed the information on Monday (March
28).
The official said that journalist Zahidur Rahman has been
rescued. He is in police custody and is in good health.
Zahidur Rahman first flew to London on March 3 on a Turkish
Airlines flight. From there go to Ireland, Scotland. He arrived in Libya on
March 21. He last talked to his family on March 23. The family told the media
that his mobile phone was found switched off after that.
It is learned that journalist Zahidur Rahman is working as a
special correspondent of NTV. He is also the director of Enam Medical College
Hospital in Savar. State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr
Mohammad Enamur Rahman is the founding chairman of the medical college
hospital. Zahidur is a resident of Savar area of Dhaka.
