In the US state of Missouri, a retail robbery event resulted in the death of a Bangladeshi who was not a resident.

Iyaz Ahmed, a 23-year-old native of St. Louis who is pursuing an IT degree at a nearby college, was named as the victim.

Iyaz was discovered shot in the head inside the BP Convenience Store in the Clayton Tamm neighborhood of St. Louis at 3:30 am on Tuesday, according to authorities.

According to the authorities, Iyaz was a clerk at the shop. He was taken to the hospital from the site, where he eventually passed away.

Iyaz may have faced several suspects trying to get into his car, which was parked in front of the store at a petrol station, according to St. Louis investigators working the case after studying CCTV evidence.

Three suspects, according to the police, who earlier extensively pursued a 19-year-old before dropping him as a person of interest.

Iyaz's aunt Rehana Begum described him as a kind, collected, and helpful man and stated that after his father, who was stationed in Chattogram's Mirsarai, passed away, she assisted him in moving to the US when he was a teenager.

Iyaz's funeral rites will be performed in the city, according to Kazi Nayan, a prominent member of the Bangladeshi community in New York, because Iyaz's brother had already left for Missouri to carry the body back there.
