The Saudi government has arrested 15,812 migrants for violating residency, labor, and border protection laws. Riyadh-based media Arab News reported the information on Saturday (September 16) through the Saudi Press Agency.

The report says that among the arrests in the last week were 9 thousand 801 people who violated residency laws, 3 thousand 804 people who violated border security rules, and 2 thousand 207 people who violated labor laws. However, it is not known whether there are Bangladeshis among them or not.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Interior, anyone who facilitates the infiltrators to enter Saudi Arabia or provides them with any kind of assistance, including transportation, and shelter, can face a maximum of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to one million Saudi Riyals.

It is noted that there are a large number of migrant workers in Saudi Arabia, a country with a population of about 3.5 million. Saudi media regularly reports on arrests of illegal immigrants.
