Cyclone Sitrang Causes Damage in Parts of Bangladesh

Cyclone Sitrang has caused extensive damage to Aman paddy. The paddy field is submerged in water. Trees are broken. Photo was taken on Tuesday from Nakla in Sherpur.

A huge billboard collapsed on top of two buses in the rampage of Sitrang in Faridpur. At that time the driver and helpers inside the bus were rescued by local people.

Two parts of the Marine Drive collapsed in Baharchhara crematorium area of Sabrang Union in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar due to the tidal surge during Cyclone Sitrang.

Due to the continuous heavy rain due to the impact of Cyclone Sitrang, waterlogging has occurred in various areas of Dhaka. After the stormy night, students and working people had to venture out on the flooded roads on Tuesday morning. Photo taken from Nayabazar area of the capital.

On Monday night, trees fell on power transmission lines, buildings and roads in various parts of the capital. Due to this, several areas became without electricity along with disruption of traffic. In the morning, the fire service was called to remove these trees. Photo was taken on Tuesday.

Due to Cyclone Sitrang, tidal waves are hitting the sea coast. As a result, the beach is further eroded. Around 4:30 pm on Monday, the traffic on the road was stopped due to a tree falling at a place called Hnila Natmura on the Teknaf-Cox's Bazar road.
