DUCSU VP Nur Receives Death Threat

A student at Dhaka University (DU) threatened to murder Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Vice President (VP) Nurul Haque Nur and attacked one of his fellows at DUCSU cafeteria around 2.30 p.m. yesterday.

Nur thyself made a death-threatening accusation and sent a written complaint to the DU Proctor saying he feared for his life and sought serious action against the offender.

Nur named the attacker as Adnan Ahmed Nabil, a second-year university student living in Salimullah Muslim Hall.

As per the lawsuit, Adnan verbally assaulted Nur and said that he would kill the DUCSU VP if he stays on campus after 11 March. Thus Adnan pushed Nur backward and beat his companion, Shakil Mia.

Nur also said that Adnan was one of the perpetrators who attacked 11 DUCSU leaders, including Nur, on 22 December 2019, at the DUCSU office.

Confirming the matter, Hasan Al Mamun, convener of Bangladesh General Students' Rights Protection Council central committee, said Adnan is a follower of Ducsu General Secretary and Bangladesh Chattra League ex-president Golam Rabbani.
