BNP Is Plotting to Grab State Power: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP-Jamaat alliance is out to hatch a conspiracy to seize the state power through clandestine alleyways instead of standing beside the people during the coronavirus pandemic.

"A fitting response will be given to BNP if the party engages in anti-people and anti-country conspiratories," he said in an exchange of views marking the 74th anniversary of the Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the central Bangabandhu Avenue party office here, reports BSS.

Leaders of the AL Secretariat, Dhaka City Units and Associate Bodies joined the conference, which was conducted on a small scale, to preserve health guidelines.

Quader, also Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, said intelligence reports exposed the BNP's plan to capture state power though different media have already reported on the matter.

BNP – The Jamaat Alliance never wants to reflect the people's hopes and aspirations, rather than the agenda of conspiracy. They believe in the anti-liberation and anti-state powers of darkness, he said.

He said that AL is the flag bearer of the hopes and dreams of the people and always represents the desire of the people in their activities.

AL never does politics of conspiracy but the party falls a victim to conspiracy time and again, he added.

Quader said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is a convict in a corruption case.

During the coronavirus crisis, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was released on bail on humanitarian grounds, he said, adding that Prime Minister Sheik Hasina has shown the utmost generosity in this regard.

He said that if they take generosity as a weakness, BNP will make a mistake.
