AL Govt 'Deadlier' Than COVID: Gayeshwar

Stating that the current government is more deadly than Coronavirus, BNP senior leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said on Friday that it is now on "life support" like the country's health sector.

"The country's health sector is now on ventilation and the government is not out of ventilation. There is no one to cut the ventilation pipe to ensure its collapse. There is no support, even life support, for this regime that came to power through a vote robbery without public support," he said, reports UNB.

The BNP leader made remarks while speaking at a doa mahfil in the Nayapaltan Party Central Office arranged by the Swadhinata Forum to seek early recovery of its president, Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah.

Gayeshwar, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, said that the administration of the Awami League will soon end if people took responsibility for withdrawing life support from it. "I don't say a story, because it's based on the current political situation."

Gayeshwar said their party can understand and identify the current disease of the government and politics, but cannot apply the right medicine to get rid of it.

He called on BNP leaders and activists to focus on liberating the nation from the 'oppression' of the current government, instead of worrying about making personal gains and getting party posts.

"No achievement can be greater than restoring democracy, and we can only reflect on it now. We may hold big roles, big titles, but they're nothing but a burden in a state where people have no right.

The BNP leader said many people are getting affected with Coronavirus while many are dying as the government has failed to tackle it and take effective preventive measures.

“In fact, this government is deadlier than Corona. People are being attacked and tortured by disease. The name of that disease is Hasina who is more terrible than Corona. To get rid of it, we must not only follow the health safety rules, but also the rules and path of democracy and politics, and we must restore democracy,” he observed.
