HC Grants Bail to BNP Leader Nipun Roy

The High Court on Wednesday granted bail to BNP central executive committee member Nipun Roy Chowdhury in two cases filed for plotting subversive activities.    

The HC bench of Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice Mohammad Ali passed the order after hearing the bail petition in the cases, reports media.   

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested Nipun on March 28 from her Rayer Bazar home in the capital.

Later, RAB legal and media wing director Lt. Col. Ashik Billah said Nipun was arrested for her involvement in torching buses in capital’s Janapath and Malibagh intersections on 27 March.
