Dr Zafrullah Comments on Pori Moni Incident

Many people have talked about Pori Moni after her arrest. This time Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, the founder and trustee of the Gonoshasthaya Kendra has spoken about it. He has demanded money for the vaccine from businessmen who pay Pori Moni or spend on her.

At a seminar in the capital on Saturday (August 7th), Dr Zafarullah said it does not cost more than half a dollar to make a vaccine. For this, a minimum investment of Tk 50 crore is required. Those who are businessmen in the country, those who spend on Pori Moni- they can raise Tk 50 crore in seven days if they want.

Zafrullah Chowdhury said, "Our target should be to make our own vaccine within six months." Russia will help us if Bangladesh wants, just as Cuba and Iran have made vaccines. We can make vaccines like Cuba. Then it will cost half a dollar.

“I have made proposals before to make the vaccine in the country, and I am doing it again,” he said. Professor Nazrul Islam, Professor Azad, Bijan Kumar Shil can help to make tha vacccine. We need to take quick action without giving speeches. The Prime Minister will be remembered if she does this one thing.

Addressing the Prime Minister, Dr Zafarullah said, "You should try to use all the citizens of the country.Who does Awami League, who does BNP- that should not be your concern.”

The seminar on Delta variant was organized by the Gono Biswabidyaloy at the Public Health City Hospital in Dhanmondi. Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Laila Parveen Banu presided over the seminar. The keynote address was delivered by Dr Bijan Kumar Shil, a microbiologist at the People's University.
