The body of Hafiz
Maulana Junaid Babunagari, Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, has been taken
to Hathazari Madrasa from CSCR Hospital in Chattogram. His first janaza will be
held at 7:30 pm at the Hathazari Madrasa Compound in Chattogram.
An ambulance carrying
his body was taken to Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa in Chattogram's
Hathazari around 1.30 pm on Thursday (August 19). Hefazat's Chattogram metropolitan
publicity secretary Ahmad Ullah told the media that the body of Babungari has
now been kept at Hathazari Madrasa.
Maulana Mir Mohammad
Idris, the organizing secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam, said a decision has been
taken on the first janaza prayers of Hefazat Ameer at the Hathazari Madrasa Compound.
Initially, the time has been fixed at 7:30 pm. However, the time of prayers may
be delayed. He said discussions were underway on where Junaid Babungari would
be buried.
Meanwhile, after the
news of the death of the Amir of Hifazat, activists and admirers thronged to
the hospital.
Mohammad Amjad, a
doctor at CSCR Hospital in Chittagong, said Babunagari had died before being
brought to Babungari Hospital. He had kidney problems, high blood pressure and
various other problems.
