Khaleda Shifted to Cabin Hours after Biopsy Test

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been shifted to a cabin from the Intensive Care Unit at Evercare Hospital in the city, reports media.

She was shifted to the cabin at night several hours after her biopsy test was conducted on Monday afternoon, Khaleda Zia's personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain confirmed.

He said the biopsy is not really a surgery in that sense rather a part of the overall diagnostic process. She have been kept at the ICU as it should be done even in case of a minor biopsy test.

She was, later, shifted to the cabin at night as he has been doing well since samples for biopsy were taken from her body, said Dr Zahid.

The next course of treatment depends on its result which might come within 72 hours to 21 days, he continued.

Dr Zahid Hossain also mentioned that Khaleda Zia is now 76-year old. She has many old complications. Her medical board has opined that she requires treatment at a dedicated developed centre. "Khaleda Zia should be taken to abroad as early as possible for advanced treatment," he said, quoting the medical board.
