Awami League Joint General
Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today said the next parliamentary election will
be held under the incumbent government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
"The next parliamentary
election will be held under the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and
the BNP will have to participate in the polls," he said.
Replying to a question over BNP
Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's demand for a caretaker
government, Hanif said BNP had destroyed the caretaker government system, so
they have no rights to say about this system again.
He said while addressing as the
chief guest the "Fine Arts Conference 2022" of Bangladesh Chhatra
League (BCL) at Bakultala of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dhaka University here.
Mentioning that all the
achievements of the country have been achieved under the leadership of Awami
League, he said the independence of this country was achieved under the
leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the
economic emancipation of the people has been attained under the leadership of
Bangabandhu's successor Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Speaking as special guest, Prime
Minister's Special Assistant and Awami League Office Secretary Barrister Biplab
Barua said BCL always protests injustice and works to protect democracy of the
country.
The conference was chaired by
Tonmoy Debonath, president of Fine Arts Faculty of Chhatra League, Marufa Akter
Popy, Awami League Central Committee member, Professor Jamal Uddin Ahmed,
president of Bangladesh Charushilpi Sangsad, Al Nahian Khan Joy and Lekhak
Bhattacharjee, president and general secretary of BCL central commitee, Sanjit
Chandra Das and Saddam Hussein, president and general secretary of Dhaka
University BCL unit, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Fahim Islam Limon, General
Secretary of Fine Arts Faculty BCL, conducted the programme.
More than 1.7 million people have
