Quader for Building Well-Organized, United AL Ahead Of Polls

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader today called for building the party as modern, united and well-organized under AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership ahead of the next parliamentary polls, reports BSS.  

He made the call to party leaders and workers at the triennial council of Bhola District AL joining it virtually from his official residence.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said as Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina returned to her homeland, democracy was restored through ousting an autocratic ruler.

As she returned, the much-awaited Padma Bridge has been established defying all conspiracies hatched at home and abroad, he said.

Bangladesh has graduated to a developing nation from a least developed country (LDC) as Sheikh Hasina returned home, he said.

He said AL never hatches conspiracy against anyone but it has become a victim of conspiracies repeatedly.

Today, those who had wanted to erase Bangabandhu's name from history are being wiped away from history, he mentioned.

Urging the party leaders to remain united under Sheikh Hasina, Quader said wrongdoers will not get any room in the party.

"There is no scarcity of good persons in Awami League. So, bad people will not be allowed at the party. There is no room for terrorists and extortionists in the party," he said.

AL Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed joined the council as the chief guest with Bhola District AL President Fazlul Quader Majnu in the chair.

Party's Advisory Council Member Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, Central Working Committee Member Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary Afjal Hossain, International Affairs Secretary Dr Shammi Ahmed, Industries and Commerce Secretary Siddiqur Rahman, Char Fasson Upazila AL President Abdullah Al Islam Jacob, Lalmohon Upazila AL President Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shawan and Bhola District AL General Secretary Abdul Mamin Tulu also joined it.
