Mohila Awami League: Chumki Named As President, Shabnam As General Secretary

Outgoing secretary Meher Afroz Chumki was made the president of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League, the women's wing of the ruling Awami League, on Saturday.

On the other hand, Shabnam Zahan Shila was announced as the new general secretary of the party. She has previously served as the general secretary of Mohila Awami League's Dhaka city north unit.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader made the announcements on the conference stage of Bangladesh Mohila Awami league on Saturday evening.

Awami League President Sheikh Hasina was present as the chief guest of Mohila Awami League's central council at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, Simeen Hussain Rimi, daughter of Bangladesh's wartime prime minister Tajuddin Ahmad and lawmaker from the Gazipur-4 constituency was made the presidium member of the Awami league.
