Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Wednesday said that BNP will have to come to the next elections, no matter what they say now, reports UNB.
“I hope that this time it (BNP) will come to the election with preparation in advance, not like in 2018,” he said while replying to a question from journalists at Chattogram Circuit House on Wednesday evening.
Replying to a question from a reporter about the BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s announcement of a one-point movement to topple the government with all the strength after Eid, Hasan said that they have been hearing such statements from Mirza Fakhrul for long.
“But we know how much movement they can do. In 2013, 2014 and 2015, we saw the burning of people. We have dealt with it, the government has lasted for five years,” said Hasan, also the Joint General Secretary of the ruing party.
"The foundation of the Awami League government is deeply rooted in the people,” he added.
