Obaidul Quader, the general secretary of the Awami League, dismissed the Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) proposals as empty and devoid of specific measures for the welfare of the populace.

According to Quader, the BNP has a lengthy history of sponsoring terrorism, indulging in stealing, encouraging militancy, and fostering corruption all while attempting to restore an autocratic system.

Quader expressed his concerns about the BNP's attempt to deceive the public, even though the people have lost faith in them.

In a statement released by Awami League Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua on Thursday (July 13), Quader highlighted the confusion and inconsistency in BNP's political agenda, citing their numerous iterations of outlines, including 10 points, 27 points, 1 point, and 31 points.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said the BNP's points have already been unequivocally rejected by the people.

He further asserted that the BNP's current outlines and points are merely superficial and insincere, lacking true conviction.

Quader accused the BNP of engaging in destructive activities and disregarding democratic principles while in power, using democracy as a smokescreen.

Quader pointed out that although the BNP claims to advocate for religious freedom, fair wages for workers, and rights of farmers, their own track record contradicts these assertions.

Quader alleged that the BNP's founder Ziaur Rahman was the first to infringe upon religious freedom in the country, and BNP's lawmakers, ministers, and members have been involved in persecution of minority women as well as disregarding their religious freedom time and again.
