BNP Gets DMP’s Nod to Hold March

BNP has received approval from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police to undertake its planned road march on July 18 and 19, as well as a protest at the Nayapaltan office on July 22.

The declaration was made by Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Annie, the DMP's publicity secretary, following discussions with the Dhaka Metropolitan Commissioner on Sunday (July 16) at the DMP's headquarters in Dhaka.

"We have informed them (police officials) about our programme and asked for their cooperation. They ensured to cooperate us. Permission is not much needed here, where a verbal discussion took place," Annie said to journalists.

Responding to a question about loudspeakers, the BNP leader said, "They said to continue the publicity through social media, distributing leaflets, instead of loudspeakers."
