Fights between BNP and BCL Activists Break Out in Mirpur

As the BNP party's road march to underline their one-point demand reached close to the university, the BNP men and Bangladesh Chhatra League, a fraction of the Govt Bangla campus, got into a fight.

A fight broke out at 11:45 a.m. Brick pieces were thrown at each other.

According to our reporter on the scene, BNP members set fire to both a motorcycle and a bicycle during the altercation.

Several people were injured in the altercation.

Today at 11:30am, BNP officials and activists began their road march program to drive home their one-point demand for elections under a non-party interim administration.

They began the march near the SA Khalek Bus Counter in Gabtoli. At the capital's Roy Shaheb Baazar crossroads, the march will come to a conclusion.
