BNP is Like a ‘Terrible Blister’: Quader

Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League and minister of roads, bridges, and transportation, has once more attacked the BNP, referring to it as a "terrible blister" in the nation's democratic system.

"BNP is the master of terror and conspiracy politics on Bangladeshi soil," he declared. Murders, plots, terrorism, and other forms of instability will continue as long as this awful blister persists.

They oppose elections. They want to gain control through a conspiracy," he said in a press conference with media after laying wreaths at the Banani Graveyard in honor of Sheikh Kamal's 74th birthday today (5 August).

"Birthdays are such a happy occasion," Quader stated to mark the occasion. However, Sheikh Kamal's birthday brings back the sadness of the traumatic past.

At the time, he referred to Tarique and Ziaur Rahman as the masterminds of catastrophes and accused them for the grenade attack on August 21 and the 15 August 1975 bombing, respectively.

"This family is responsible for all of the catastrophes, including the events on 15 August. It is the one that launched the murder and conspiracy politics in Bangladesh, the speaker added.
