Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, claimed that the judiciary now functions as an arm of the police.

He remarked, "To change the country, the current government must be overthrown," at a debate forum held today (August 11) at Segunbagicha's Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium. In opposition to Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the BNP, and his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman's conviction, Zia Parishad Kendriya Shangsad organized the discussion conference.

"The verdict given is not a judicial verdict," Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said. This ruling was made by a fascist government. By keeping the populace out, those in authority maintain their position. In the name of the law, they are breaking the law. They made unconstitutional changes to the Constitution.

Khasru mentioned the publication of a book on August 14 and stated the citizens needed to know where the nation was headed at the time.

"Media accounts are presented in the book that was released on August 14. A book on the Rohingya crisis will also be released. We must emphasize where the nation's court sits right now both at home and abroad, he continued.
