Sajeeb Wazed, the advisor to the prime minister on ICT matters, claims that by passing the notorious Indemnity Act, BNP founder Ziaur Rahman established "a culture of impunity" that made it impossible for anybody to pursue retribution for Bangabandhu's death.

He tweeted on Monday night, "After Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's murder, BNP founder and nation's first dictator General Zia embraced the killers with jobs in various missions abroad." The tweet has a documentary attached to it.

Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana, the daughters of Bangabandhu, could do nothing except weep from afar, according to a tweet by Sajeeb Wazed.

He stated that the daughters persisted in their battle while living abroad.

In order to look into the deaths of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his family, and four other national leaders, the first inquiry panel in the United Kingdom was established in 1980 by Nobel laureate Sean MacBride, three famous British jurists, and three other individuals.

Sajeeb Wazed, the son of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the grandson of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, claimed that Ziaur Rahman had denied the men visas to enter the country, which was a blatant indication that he was trying to obstruct a fair inquiry.

He added that among the murderers, Rashid, Dalim, Noor, and Rashed Chowdhury were sent as Bangladesh envoys to Germany, Spain, Canada, and the United States, respectively.

It is therefore not difficult to understand Gen Ziaur Rahman's role in Bangabandhu's assassination, Sajeeb Wazed noted.

On August 15, people around the country mark National Mourning Day.

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bangalee of all time, was brutally slain on this day in 1975, along with the majority of his family.
