After Jummah prayers, BNP officials and supporters are congregating at Dayaganj in the capital to participate in the party's huge demonstration to drive home their exclusive demands for a nonpartisan polls-time administration and the release of its chairperson Khaleda Zia.

At 3pm today (18 August), BNP organizes large-scale processions across the nation, including in Dhaka. Along with the BNP, like-minded organizations are also organizing processions.

Dayaganj is where the BNP's large parade in Dhaka South begins. The parade will pass via the Buddhist Temple, Kamalapur, Golapbagh, Sayedabad Bridge, Dholpur Community Center, and Khilgaon before arriving at its destination.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be the chief guest in this procession. BNP standing committee members, senior leaders and leaders of its associate organisations will also be present.

The BNP of Dhaka North will launch their mass procession at the same time from Gulshan-2. After passing via Gulshan-1 and Titumir College, it will arrive at the Mohakhali bus stop.

The principal guest in this parade will be Mirza Abbas, a member of the BNP Standing Committee. Members of the BNP standing committee, senior leaders, and affiliate leaders will also be in attendance.

Following Friday prayers, leaders and activists have begun to arrive to join the BNP's Dhaka South mass parade. They were heard yelling demanding Khaleda Zia's release.

Law enforcement personnel were observed to be on alert.
