Obaidul Quader, the general secretary of the Awami League, compared the BNP to dengue on Saturday, stating that just as democracy and security are not secure under the control of the BNP, so are human life.

The BNP and dengue are currently the country's two most dangerous enemies, and both must be stopped, said Quader, who is also the minister of road transport and bridges, during a public awareness program hosted by the Awami League's health and population subcommittee in Dhanmondi's Rabindra Sarobar.

In answer to a query from media, he stated that the BNP was watching the US in the hopes of seeing stricter immigration regulations and sanctions. The Awami League is currently looking to the nation's citizens.

The general secretary of the Awami League urged local governments to improve their dengue prevention initiatives. In this context, he asked officials as well as party leaders and activists to speak up.

Later, flyers with information on preventing dengue were distributed.
