Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced that the BNP's Dhaka North and South units would hold march processions with black flags on Friday and that the party would hold a similar protest program in all major cities across the country on Saturday during a press conference on Tuesday (August 22) at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan.

Before that, the magistrate dismissed the petitions submitted by the accused for relieving them of the charges.

Eighteen other accused have been on the run since the case was filed against them. Charges were framed against them in their absence. The magistrate issued arrest warrants against them, said Assistant Public Prosecutor Hemayet Uddin Khan.

The magistrate fixed September 17 for starting trial of the case.

According to the case statement, on November 5, 2012, at about 10:00 am, a gathering of Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists, organized by Golam Parwar, was convened in front of the Hotel Motijheel to protest the arrest of its top officials. They destroyed two motorcycles and damaged a number of automobiles at one point.

Mizanur Rahman Sumon of Chandpur's Hajiganj reported the event, and Motijheel Police Station received a complaint against 62 individuals, including Golam Parwar.

Following an investigation, Sub-Inspector Awal Hossain, who was also responsible for the case's investigation, filed a charge sheet against Golam Parwar and 96 other people for their alleged involvement in the occurrences on September 30, 2013.
