The government perceives the people as fools. There won't be any elections under this illegal government. Simply announcing election details won't make it happen. Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the permanent committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has expressed this opinion, emphasizing that it's not as straightforward as it seems.

He made the remarks during a discussion forum titled "Current Perspective on Justice, Democracy, and Human Rights" organized by the Democracy Forum on Saturday (September 2nd).

Khasru stated that under the current illegitimate government, there would be no fair elections held in the country. He questioned which elections were being referred to and suggested that until the people's voting rights, democratic, constitutional, and political rights are restored, no elections will take place in Bangladesh.

Khasru further stated that millions of people in the country are engaged in a struggle to regain their voting rights, democratic rights, constitutional rights, and political rights. He emphasized that the movement is strong and active in every region of the country.

Regarding the government's development claims, Amir Khasru criticized the government for its alleged financial mismanagement. He claimed that the government has completely shattered the country's economic structure, and banks are left with no money. He accused the government of engaging in corruption, embezzlement of large development project funds, and printing money recklessly.

Khasru also commented on the inauguration of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway, stating that such inaugurations are merely another form of corruption. He suggested that the government would engage in corruption by embezzling funds from large-scale projects under the guise of development. He referred to these megaprojects as tools for engaging in mega-corruption.

The discussion forum was chaired by V.P. Ibrahim, and other BNP leaders, including Nitai Roy Chowdhury, Fazlul Haque Milon, and Abu Nasar Muhammad Rahmatullah, were also present.
