Fakhrul Fears to Be Taken to Jail Within a Month

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said with fear, "My guess is that within a month and a half, I may have to go to jail like Aman." Because those who are telling the government, to go away, and give up power; the government is conspiring to punish them.

At the same time, Mirza Fakhrul said that the government has also tried to take Nobel Prize winner Dr. Yunus to prison. He said the BNP is not relying on Dr. Yunus but on the people.

He said these things at the unveiling ceremony of the book titled 'Nobboi er Gonoabbuthyan o Kichu Kotha' written by former VP of DACSU Aman Ullah Aman at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Thursday (September 7).

Mirza Fakhrul said, We want elections, we believe there is no change or way without elections. It is believed by those who believe in democracy. If the election is under the party government, as I have seen in previous experience, the election is not fair under any party government. If it is again under the Awami League. It will never be fair.

He said, that in 1971 and 1990, the founder of democracy had to give his life. But after 52 years, today we have to say that. It is seen that democracy has been completely eradicated from the country.

"Thousands of BNP leaders and activists are on the balcony of the court every day, this cannot happen in any democratic country."

Mirza Fakhrul called upon the country's intellectuals and editors to visit the balcony of the court and said, "Go and see how the leaders and activists attend, how many ordinary people and leaders and activists are going." He said there is democracy! Such a system of justice, if it grants bail in the High Court, remands it to the lower court.

He also said that the Awami League has a history and does not believe in democracy. Saying this irritates them. Can they deny it? They didn't do it. In 1975, he established his rule by killing democracy.
