BNP has started road march from Bhairab towards Sylhet with the one-point demand for the resignation of the government. The 160-km long road march began today on Thursday (21 September) morning at 11:20 am after the inaugural rally at Bhairav Bus Stand.
BNP co-organizing secretary and Kishoreganj district BNP president Shariful Alam presided over the opening rally. Members of the party's standing committee Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, BNP vice chairman Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain, Advisor to Chairperson Fazlur Rahman, Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Habib-un Nabi Sohel, Organizing Secretary Emran Saleh Prince, Juba Dal President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Swecchasebak Dal President SM Jilani, Chhatra Dal Acting President Rashed Iqbal Khan and others spoke at the opening rally at Bhairab Bus stand.
Meanwhile, before the road march started, the Bhairab bus stand area became over-crowded. Leaders and activists overflowed in that area. A large number of activists participated in the road march with buses, trucks, microbuses, motorcycles. After the start of the road march, it crossed Bhairav Bridge, Ashuganj and proceeded towards Sylhet.
There will be three street meetings at Bishwa Road Junction in Brahmanbaria, Shaistaganj Junction in Habiganj and Sherpur in Moulvibazar.
After that, the concluding assembly will be held at Alia Madrasah ground in Sylhet. Local leaders of Sylhet BNP along with members of the party's standing committee Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury will speak in it.
Meanwhile, it is known that BNP will road march from Barisal to Patuakhali on September 23, Khulna division on September 26, Mymensingh to Kishoreganj on October 1, Comilla to Chattogram on October 3.
