Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud said that the elections which have already been held with the local government have been very fair, free and impartial. He aslo said, it doesn't matter whether someone observed our election or not. BNP will not be given an opportunity to destabilize the country with this. Whether foreign observers come or not, the next election will be free, fair and impartial.

He said this regarding EU not sending the observer delegation during an exchange of views with journalists on contemporary issues at the YNT Center in Chattogram city Friday (September 22) at noon. Awami League's relief and social welfare secretary Aminul Islam Amin was present at the time.

Hasan Mahmud asked whether foreign observers visits India when elections are held there, and if they prioritize this matter too much like us? Or when there are elections in different European countries, do observers from our or any other country go there? The answer is no.

He said, when the election comes in our country, there are many discussions about who observed and who did not. If foreign observers come, they are welcomed, if not it doesn't even matter whether someone observes our polls or not. The next elections will be free, fair and impartial and there will be massive participation of people in the elections, Insha Allah.

The minister said the European Union (EU) has said it will send a small observer team. They also mentioned in the letter about their lack of budget. Whether EU observers come or not, our country has an Election Monitoring Forum, observers from various SAARC countries will come to observe the elections. So we will conduct our elections, our elections will be fair, free and impartial.

This joint general secretary of Awami League said that Khaleda Zia had blocked the people of the country for 100 days by calling for blockade. Hundreds of people were burned to death by petrol bombs, and thousands were burnt to death.

He said, BNP will not be able to do such a brutal incident in the country, the people of the country will not allow it. Attempts to repeat such incidents will be resisted unitedly with the people of the country.
