BNP's Stage Pulled Down In Aminbazar, Rally Suspended

BNP had planned a rally on Monday (September 25) at Dholaikhal and Aminbazar, the two gateways of the capital, demanding the resignation of the government. The rally was supposed to start today at noon. But around 1:30 last night, the stage prepared for the rally adjacent to the Chishti filling station in Aminbazar was pulled down.

Dhaka District BNP General Secretary Nipun Roy alleged that the OC of Savar police station vandalized the stage.

Nipun Roy told the media that the OC of Savar police station called me around 1:30 a.m. and said, "You cannot hold the rally tomorrow, we are pulling down the stage of the rally." I asked the OC that around 10 pm the police went and inspected the staging area. The police did not say anything then. Why are you talking about breaking the stage at half past midnight? In response to this, the OC said, Awami League could not hold a rally, you too cannot hold a rally here.

She said today's rally of Aminbazar has been postponed. Tomorrow Tuesday (September 26) we will hold the rally at the same place.

It is to be noted that the Dholaikhal assembly will be held at noon today. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will speak as the chief guest.
