No Dialogue Without Caretaker Govt. Issue: BNP

Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Wednesday said that there would be no discussion or dialogue on any issue other than a neutral government during the election.

Today at afternoon BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the comment at a press conference at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office.

A meeting of the pre-election observation team of the United States visiting Dhaka with the Awami League was held at a hotel in Banani in the capital on Monday. After the meeting, the AL general secretary said that BNP had blocked the way to compromise on the upcoming elections.

‘We have always said that one subject can be discussed, but not another. There can be no discussion on anything other than a neutral government during elections,’ Fakhrul said.

Addressing AL Fakhrul said, ‘Are you ready to talk about a neutral government during the elections? We have already said that we can talk about it. If the government make that announcement, we will accept it.’
