Awami League has completed the work of making the stage for peace and development rally at the south gate of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. The rally is scheduled to begin on Saturday (October 28) morning at 2 pm. The leaders and workers of the party are gathering in groups since morning.

Earlier, the leaders and activists of the party started gathering in front of the party office on Bangabandhu Avenue since evening on Friday (October 27). Thousands of leaders and activists from different police stations and wards of Dhaka gathered there. Kamrul Hasan Ripon, president of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami Volunteer League, came to Bangabandhu Avenue with a procession around 7:15 pm on Friday.

Meanwhile, BNP leaders and activists have also gathered on the road in front of the party office in Nayapaltan. On October 28, BNP will hold a rally in Nayapaltan demanding the fall of the government. On the other hand, the ruling party Awami League will hold a rally at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram in the capital on the same day.

Clashes are feared over the gathering of two major political parties on the same day within a distance of only one and a half kilometers. For this reason, the security system of Dhaka has been strengthened. The police have set up security checkpoints at several entrances of the capital and are conducting searches.
