The streets of capital Dhaka all on sudden became stands for unrest position around the BNP rally on October 28. The first clash between Awami League and BNP activists started in Kakrail at 1 pm.

Later, the fear of this clash spread to the surrounding areas including Nightangle Junction. In this situation, the Secretary General’s speech was postponed.

On Saturday (October 28) when the conflict escalated around 3:30, BNP leaders postponed their rally.

On the ground, it can be seen that the police fired rubber bullets, tear gas and sound grenades to control the situation in the clashes at the BNP rally. On the other hand, BNP workers pelted bricks at the police. At one point, the leaders and workers supported by BNP were seen retreating.

Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer of BGB Headquarters Shariful Islam told the media that four platoons of BGB have been deployed there after the conflict in Kakrail. Six platoons of BGB members are working with Dhaka Metropolitan Police to control law and order. 10 Platoon BGB members have been kept on standby. If necessary, they will take to the streets.
