Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said that “many old faces are likely to be ruled out” of party nominations this time. Nominations will be given to the candidates who are accepted in the mix of old and new. However, the main criteria for nomination will be “public involvement”.
He said these on the last day of the Parliamentary Nomination Board meeting on Saturday (November 25).
Obaidul Quader said that no decision has been made yet regarding the alliance of the Awami League in the 12th National Parliament election. “One coalition is against another. In that case, we will not go to the alliance if it is not necessary,” he mentioned.
He also said that the names of candidates for 300 seats will be announced on Sunday. On this day, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will exchange views with party nomination aspirants at Gonobhaban.
