An Evil Force Seeks the Destruction of Democratic Politics: Kader

General Secretary of Awami League Obaidul Quader has commented that an evil force wants to destroy the democratic politics which was the goal of victory in the liberation war. Referring to the parties in the anti-government movement, he said that those who are opposing the upcoming elections in Bangladesh are standing in the way of democratic politics in the country.

Today Saturday (December 16) after paying tribute to the brave martyrs of 1971 at the National Memorial on the morning of Victory Day, Obaidul Quader said, "for 21 years after the assassination of Bangabandhu, our democracy was chained. For 21 years, the values of our liberation war were trampled. The ideal of freedom was lost. It is very true today that six years after the assassination of Bangabandhu, our leader, national treasure Sheikh Hasina, returned to her homeland and took a step forward in Bangladesh by uniting the disillusioned nation and leading the struggle for freedom from shackles. After that, under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, today's Bangladesh is the developing Bangladesh.”

Highlighting the government's success, he said, "fifteen years ago Bangladesh and today's Bangladesh have reached new heights in development-progress-prosperity. Bangladesh is now the 35th largest economy in the world. Today's Bangladesh has come down to 18.7 in the poverty line and the poor has come down to 5, this is a great achievement, a great prosperity. We said Digital Bangladesh, our next goal is Smart Bangladesh. Today, we have so much prosperity, so much achievement, so much development...even in spite of this, communalism and militancy still stand in the way of our progress and prosperity."

On this time criticizing BNP, Obaidul Quader said, "Communalism is spreading today under the leadership of BNP. It is creating obstacles in the way of our development and achievement. Today, the evil forces opposing the elections in Bangladesh are standing in the way of democratic politics, they actually do not want to establish communalism in this country, their real purpose is to destroy the progress of politics in this country. We wish for a prosperous future of politics in Bangladesh and they want to destroy the politics that was the goal of victory in the liberation war."

"All of us who are strong in the self-strength of the liberation war, let us unite and resist and defeat this anti-democratic politics, anti-non-communal politics evil forces," said the General Secretary of Awami League.
