BNP activists Gathering in Nayapaltan

BNP leaders and activists are gathering at the party's central Nayapaltan’s  office in the capital to participate the victory rally. They gathered in front of the party office since 11:30 am on Saturday (December 16) and started shouting slogans. This rally is scheduled to start at 1 pm as previously announced by the party’s Dhaka Metropolis BNP.

At this time seen BNP leaders and activists were gathering in front of the party's head office along with small processions from different wards of the city with carrying various anti-government placards and posters. Meanwhile, several pickup trucks were seen parked outside the party office. However, the senior leaders of BNP have not yet come to the rally venue.

Earlier clashes broke out between the police and BNP workers after the party's general meeting on October 28. Since then the main office of BNP has been abandoned and locked. The office is under strict police protection. 

Meanwhile vehicular traffic has been restricted on one side of the road in Nayapaltan area in xubject to the BNP’s rally. Members of the law enforcement force have been increased in the vicinity.

Incidentally, BNP has called for nationwide strike-blockade since October 29 to demand elections under a non-partisan caretaker government.
