Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia along with top leaders of the party and thousands of activists are still living a suffocating life after being imprisoned due to the oppression of the government. The highest level of oppression has been applied by depriving them of all their basic rights.

He said these things in a press conference at Nayapaltan BNP central office on Saturday (January 13).

Rizvi said that jailed BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and thousands of leaders and activists are living an inhumane life without receiving medical treatment.

Rizvi also said that almost all human rights organizations in the world, including the US-based international human rights organization Human Rights Watch, the influential Australian Senator David Shubridge, diplomats and political influentials of various countries have called for a new national election by canceling Sheikh Hasina's rigged election and releasing the political prisoners. Therefore, the demand for the cancellation of Tamasha elections and the release of royal prisoners is now echoing in the international arena as well.

Rizvi pointed out that if the government is formed by the people's votes in the future, every rupee will be accounted for when the government is formed in the country in the name of election.

He said, the Dummy Chief Election Commissioner is sleeping in the name of election.
