BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan expressed his concern about the absence of democracy in the country, emphasizing that the prime minister's influence extends to both the opposition party and the outcomes of elections.

He questioned whether Bangladesh should be controlled by a specific individual or party, asserting that the nation, having gained independence through a war, belongs to its people.

Nazrul criticized the current trend of industrialists and businesspeople entering parliament instead of elected politicians, raising doubts about their ability to address issues such as controlling the prices of essential goods.

Additionally, he accused the government of unjustly detaining activists based on false charges. Nazrul underscored the need for a more organized and logical approach to the BNP's movement, urging efforts to safeguard democracy in Bangladesh.
