Mirza Abbas Secures Bail, No Bar On Release

The court has granted bail to BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas in Dhaka Railway Police case. In this regard, he got bail in all 11 cases against Mirza Abbas based on the BNP general meeting on October 28. So there is no bar for Abbas to walk free from jail, said the lawyer.

Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Zulhas Uddin granted his bail after the hearing on Monday (February 19). He got bail in all the cases.

Mirza Abbas's lawyer Mohiuddin Chowdhury said that Mirza Abbas got bail in all the cases. 

On October 28, 11 cases were filed against Mirza Abbas in connection with BNP's general meeting. Detective Police arrested Mirza Abbas from Shahid Bagh in Dhaka on the night of October 31 in the case of the Sabotage and Explosives Act of Shahjahanpur police station. He was sent to jail on November 5 after a five-day remand in this case.

In view of the application on January 24, he was arrested in another case of Dhaka Reloye police station. On February 1, the court granted Mirza Abbas' application to show arrest in five cases of Paltan Police Station and four cases of Ramna Model Police Station. Later on February 5, the court granted bail in four cases of Paltan Police Station and two cases of Ramna Model Police Station.

The next day, on February 6, he got bail in three separate cases of Shahjahanpur, Paltan Police Station and Ramna Model Police Station and on February 18 in the case of attack on the residence of the Chief Justice of Ramna Model Police Station.
