Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that BNP has not helped even one poor people this Ramadan. They went to big hotels and had iftar parties without helping people. But they said - why so many beggars in Dhaka city?

Obaidul Quader said this at the Prime Minister's Eid gift distribution ceremony in front of the Bangabandhu Museum at Dhanmondi 32 on Wednesday.

He asked, why there are so many beggars in Dhaka City, those who ask these questions till now have not helped a single poor people in this Ramadan. Rather than they host iftar parties in big and luxurious hotels. People come to Dhaka city during Eid in hopes of charity.

He also commented that Awami League's tradition is to stay beside the people in the time of distress.

He also said that Eid shopping goes on all night after Tarawi prayers. No incident of insecurity has occurred yet. I will not listen to those who talk about insecurity due to political opposition. We will work for the people under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

The bridge minister said, we have reduced the price of oil by coordination. Moreover, the price of commodities is slowly decreasing.
