Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that we have hospitals in the country's medical system, and doctors are also good, but still, there is an invisible crisis. He said it is very challenging to perform duties transparently here. But everyone has to take this responsibility collectively.

Obaidul Quader said this in an exchange meeting with Khulna Divisional Awami League leaders and activists on the occasion of celebrating the historic Mujibnagar Day at the party office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Thursday.

He said the recent history of the health system is not good. Important equipment is imported and left in the package but is not used. We have this history. It was brought in from the lab at the last minute in my life-or-death situation.

Obaidul Quader said, we have to go abroad for some complex diseases treatment. So a modern hospital is needed. Upazila level also needs to have ICU for emergency patients. There is a proposal to build a big modern hospital across the Padma. The proposal has been submitted to the Prime Minister. I will let you know if approved. We are in great need of big modern hospitals.

Referring to Health Minister Dr. Samanta Lal Sen, Awami League general secretary said that evaluating the right person - from Bangabandhu to Sheikh Hasina, is a reflection of our party's leadership. I think he (Health Minister) will prove his worth. I think the recent history of the health system is not good.

Obaidul Quader expressed his own experience and said, "When I was sick and admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University, Dr. Devi Sethi came at the request of our leader. He came and made a decision. The decision was very important. Accordingly, I was taken to Singapore.

He also said that there was no chance of survival if three/four minutes had passed. Making this decision is very challenging. I later heard that when Ali Ahsan was given the responsibility, he was hesitant. Because if any incident happens then he will be made anti-Awami League. Because he is not involved in Awami League politics in that way. These problems exist in our country. But then the operation was correct, and Dr. Devi Shetty accepted.

The meeting was presided over by AFM Ruhul Haque, Chairman of Awami League's Health and Population Sub-Committee. State Minister of Health and the health and population affairs secretary of the party and the member secretary of the sub-committee Rokeya Sultana were present.
