Bangladesh Restrict Zimbabwe to 265

Nayeem Hassan and Abu Jayed Rahi took four wickets each helping to bowl Zimbabwe out at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for 265 in 106.3 overs in the first innings of the Dhaka Test.

Zimbabwe began the day with a 228 for six overnight scores and lost their seventh wicket in the seventh over the day when Donald Tiripano (8 of 31) failed to play Abu Jayed's spinning strike. Tiripano managed just a thick edge that wicketkeeper Liton Das quickly took.

Abu Jayed again went for a duck to push Ainsley Ndlovu down. It had been more full distribution to the stumps. Ainsley missed it completely when flicking to the legside and total reached four in this game with this wicket from Jayed.

Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam bagged the third wicket of the day for a duck to scalp Charlton Tshuma. Taijul had taken the last wicket to drop Regis Chakabva (30 off 74 balls). Chakabva skied the ball and at 265, Nayeem took an easy catch to package the first innings of Zimbabwe down.

In the last wicket stand, Zimbabwe added 20 runs which helped them past the 250-run mark.

The top runs getter for Zimbabwe was stand-in captain Craig Ervine hitting 106 while the opener Prince Masvaure managed 64.

Nayeem Hassan and Abu Jayed bagged four wickets each for 71 and 70 respectively, while Taijul Islam scalped two wickets for 90 runs.

Ebadat Hossain bowled 17 overs and allowed 26 runs at a pace of 1.52 but failed to capture any wicket.
