Soumya to Replace Shakib in Dhaka Test

Bangladesh included Soumya Sarkar in the squad for the second match of the Bangabandhu two-match Test series against West Indies starting from February 11 in Dhaka.

Soumya got a chance as the replacement of Shakib Al Hasan who has been ruled out due to a groin injury.

The left-hander, who has a hundred and four half-centuries in 15 Tests, will join the squad's training on Wednesday.

Soumya played 15 Tests till the date and scored 818 runs at an average of 29.21 with one hundred and four half-centuries. He played his last Test in 2019 against Afghanistan in Chattogram.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh, who lost the first match of the series in Chattogram by three wickets, are looking forward to making a comeback in the Dhaka Test.
